Call for applications to
Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Scholarships 2009
Announcement
To promote mobility of students and researchers between Portugal and the EEA/EFTA states with the overall objective of supporting research and innovation and increasing skilled human resources in Portugal, the FCT opens a call for PhD students and Post-Doctoral positions in Biological, Ocean, Environmental and Health Sciences, totalling 70,000 €.
Applicants
The eligible applicants are individual researchers, post-graduate or PhD students willing to spend a mobility period working in a host institution located in the EEA/EFTA States (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway).
Legislation
The scholarships are submitted in accordance with Grant Holder Statute (Law n. 40/2004, of August 18th) and the FCT Regulations for Advanced Training and Qualification of Human Resources 2009.
Period of the Call
The call will be open from June 15th to September 1st 2009. The applications must be sealed by 5:00 PM, Lisbon time, on September 1st 2009 and are eligible for funding starting no earlier than January 1st 2010. The applications should be submitted on-line through

No other means of application submission will be considered.
Evaluation
The scholarships will be offered on a competitive basis which includes the evaluation of the applications by a panel of independent experts. The evaluation panel will review the correspondent applications, considering the evaluation criteria (merits of the candidate, work plan and host institution).
