QuantERA: ERA-NET Cofund in Quantum Technologies
FCT is a member of the ERA-NET Cofund QuantERA II, supporting international
research projects in the field of Quantum Technologies. The QuantERA
consortium include 32
national and regional research funding organizations from 27 countries.

Second QuantERA Call for Proposals (Closed)
QuantERA has announced its 2019 call for proposals in the area of Quantum
Technologies. The consortia should have between 3 and 6 partners from
different countries involved in the call. The two-stage evaluation will be
performed by an international panel of experts.

- Quantum computation
- Quantum information sciences
- Quantum metrology sensing and imaging

How to apply
- The call will have only one submission stage, until de 18th of February
2019. Candidates must submit a short and a full proposal simultaneously. The
evaluation by the independent expert panel will be performed in two stages:
during the first stage, only the short proposals will be assessed; in the
second stage, the panel will evaluate the full proposals of the applications
approved in the first stage.
- The proposals must include 3 partners from 3 different countries involved
in the call, as described in the call text;
- The proposals will go through two elegibility checks: one at
international level, according to the general eligibility criteria published
in the call text; and another at national level, according the the rules of
each funding agency. Partners that are considered non-eligible may lead to
the rejection of the whole consortium.;
- Every applicant is strongly advised to contact its National Contact Point
before submitting the pre-proposal;
- Proposals are submitted electronically, in a platform that will become
available at www.quantera.eu;
- Portuguese participation will be regulated by the Regulation on
Projects Funded Solely by National Funds.
- Every Portuguese applicant (Partners and/or Coordinators) must send the
National Contact Point a digital copy of the Statement of Commitment duly stamped
and signed by the Principal Investigator and by the legal representative of
the institution, up to 10 days after the submission of the pre-proposal. FCT
may ask for the original version of this document at a later stage.
FCT FINANCIAL COMMITMENT AND FUNDING REGULATIONS (PORTUGAL ONLY)
- National commitment for the call: 250.000 €
- Maximum national funding for a proposal coordinated by a Portuguese
partner:250.000 €
- Maximum national funding for a proposal where PT applicants are only
partners: 150.000 €
Note: If there are several PT applicants in a consortium, the funding
limit per proposal must still be respected, and the amount shared among them.
The time dedicated (FTI) to international collaborative projects is not taken
into account when calculating the 100 % (FTI) limit in national research
projects.
