Transnational Cooperation

IWRM-NET

FCT is a member of IWRM-NET (2006-2010), an project where 17 European research agencies from 14 countries seek best practice as a basis for cooperation in order to strengthen European research and to support the structuring of the European Research Area (ERA).

This particular project aims at setting up efficient trans-national cooperation in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management research funding. Also contributing to the EU Strategy, IWRM-NET will allow the funding agencies to collate existing activities, compare future strategies and recommendations of consultive bodies and systematically explore opportunities for future collaboration.

One of the main objectives is the implementation of common strategies for funding transnational research projects in relevant topics in the area of Integrated Water Resources Management.

Closed Call

At the moment the second joint call of IWRM net is closed on the following subjects:

  • Climate change impacts and adaptation for IWRM
  • Water Scarcity and Drougths
  • Economics for IWRM: Social and Envionmental Evaluation for decision making and Incentive measures to regulate uses.

Participating countries: DE, ES, FR, IT, LV, PT, RO (+ NL, SE)

The deadline for electronic submission of proposals at IWRM-NET site was 15th October 2009.

The eligibility criteria for Portuguese partners in transnational projects must be in accordance with the “Regulations governing access to funding for scientific research and technological development projects – 2008”.
