New INDIGO

Call for proposals open

The New INDIGO consortium of European and Indian S&T organisations involved in promoting research cooperation between Europe and India, presents to the scientific community the fourth call for projects in the framework of the New INDIGO Partnership Program (NPP). The aim of NPP 4th call is to support high quality research collaborative projects between European Union Member/States and Associated States and India on Energy, topics “smart energy grids” and "new energy materials”.

Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, India, Norway, Portugal and Turkey.
Period for full proposal submission
8th May until 23rd August 2013 12:00 CET; 15:30 IST.
Expected project start
April 2014.

Transnational cooperation

New INDIGO – Initiative for the Development and Integration of Indian and European Research

New INDIGO is a project funded by ERA-Net Scheme of the EU FP7 (2009-2012). The New INDIGO network is a partnership of 15 funding research and technology development agencies, coordinated by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientific (CNRS, France) and co-coordinated by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR, India). In addition, a range of observers (funding agencies) are associated with the project. The New INDIGO project main objectives are:

  • To build a multilateral consortium model based on experience involving the implementation of bilateral science and technology programmes between EU countries and India;
  • To promote Euro-Indian science and technology cooperation;
  • Create a relevant framework to allow the scientific community of India to access the FP7;
  • To facilitate the networking through the development of science and technology databases from expertise, institutions, researchers, programs in Europe and India;
  • Develop an effective system to communicate and disseminate knowledge and to stimulate the long-term scientific collaboration between stakeholders from Europe and India, including research institutes, academies, industry, and government from Europe and India;
  • Promote joint calls for transnational projects founding evolving European and Indian researchers in scientific in scientific domains to be defined.
