Transnational Cooperation

URBAN-NET

FCT is a member of URBAN-NET (2006-2010), an ERA-NET project where 15 European research agencies from 12 countries and UN-HABITAT seek best practice as a basis for cooperation in order to strengthen European research and to support the structuring of the European Research Area (ERA).

This particular project aims at setting up efficient trans-national cooperation in the field of Urban Sustainability research funding. Also contributing to the EU Strategy, URBAN-NET will allow the funding agencies to collate existing activities, compare future strategies and recommendations of consultive bodies and systematically explore opportunities for future collaboration.

One of the main objectives is the implementation of common strategies for funding transnational research projects in relevant topics in the area of Urban Sustainability.

Sustainable Urban Development: A Call for Proposals

URBAN-NET launched its second call for proposals, entitled Sustainable Urban Development, to fund transnational research projects.

The applications must be submitted via the network's electronic web portal not later than 15 January 2010.

The FCT Regulations governing access to funding for scientific research and technological development projects – 2008 are applicable to this call. However, and whenever appropriate, the content of articles 5 and 7 to 13 are replaced by the corresponding parts of the Call text.
