The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance National Network (RNRMN) has, as main objective, to allow the access of the Portuguese scientific community to modern NMR spectometers, located in institutions with the know-how needed to optimize the use of this heavy equipment.
The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance National Network (RNRMN), to which a financing of 6.500.000 € was granted by the Foundation for Science and Technology has, as initial partners, the Institute for Chemical and Biological Engineering, the Higher Technical Institute of the Lisbon Technical University, the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New Lisbon University, the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Coimbra University, the Faculty of Sciences of Porto University, the School of Sciences of Minho University and the Chemistry Department of Madeira University.
At the time of its launch RNRMN comprised 13 spectrometers, located at:
The Network management and organization model, its access and equipment usage rules, and duties and rights of the users are regulated by a Management Model (PDF), agreed upon by all the Network participants, FCT playing the role of guarantor of its application. The access of the scientific community to the services rendered by the RNRMN, as well as to the pertinent information, can be made through http://ptnmr.dq.ua.pt/, whose management and updating is the responsibility of the Network Steering Committee and, in particular, of its General Coordinator.
