FUNDECIT DE Angola visits FCT to discuss future collaborations
Created in 2021, the Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development (FUNDECIT) of Angola, visited FCT for the first time on November 18th. A delegation from FUNDECIT, led by its Director General, Mário Fresta, was received by the President of the FCT Board of Directors, Madalena Alves, and the Member of the Board of Directors of FCT, Amélia Polónia. In addition to the presentation of this new Angolan science and technology funding agency and the discussion of possible forms of collaboration, considering the historical ties between the two countries and the already existing cooperation between Angolan and Portuguese scientists, FUNDECIT invited FCT to participate in the Workshop on Integrity and Ethics in Scientific Research, to be held in Luanda between 15 and 16 December.
FCT also demonstrated its commitment to assist, from an operational point of view, FUNDECIT in its structural growth, making itself available to carry out technical training actions for the directors and project officers of this Angolan institution.
FCT and FUNDECIT will also reflect on a possible formalization of the parties' interest to collaborating in the future, enabling the implementation of specific actions that promote cooperation between each scientific communities.
