The International Consortium for Personalised Medicine ICPerMed was born in 2016 during the various workshops organised by the European Commission dedicated to this thematic. ICPerMed aims to provide a flexible framework for cooperation between its member organisations to work on fostering and coordinating research as a driver for personalised medicine implementation.
ICPerMed brings together more than 40 funding bodies from 27 European countries and beyond. Members include public and private ‘not-for-profit’ health research funding and policy organisations. Other organisations or initiatives can join ICPerMed’s stakeholder group. Portugal is represented by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Ministry of Science, Tecnology, and Higher Education, and by the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA), Ministry of Health.
