International Cooperation

ERA-CVD: ERA-NET for Research Programmes on Cardiovascular Diseases

FCT is partner of ERA-CVD, a project that will strengthen the transnational cooperation on cardiovascular disease research funding organisations in the 5-year period of 2015-2020 (extended to 2022). The consortium comprises 24 institutions from 19 countries.

In addition to FCT, the Ministry of Health, through the Directorate General of Health (DGS), responsible for implementing the National Programme for Cerebro-Cardiovascular Diseases (PNDCCV), also participates in this ERA-NET. Recognising that institutional cooperation is an added value to the promotion and advancement of scientific knowledge and technological development, a Protocol was signed between FCT and DGS/PNDCCV, to develop the common goal of these entities and in order to better support the Portuguese scientific community working in the area of cardiovascular diseases.

One of the main aims of ERA-CVD is to fund collaborative and multidisciplinary Research and Technology Development (RTD) projects on cardiovascular research. With that purpose, five Joint Transnational Calls (JTC 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) were organised. The funded projects are presented in the following links:
